Because black and white pavements are difficult to coordinate with the environment, colored asphalt pavements gradually enter people's field of vision. Colorful roads can both induce traffic and beautify the environment. Many countries have begun to build colorful roads in cities and have achieved certain results. However, its high-temperature stability performance will be affected by some factors, as following:
1.Climatic factors
The effect of climate on the high-temperature stability of colored asphalt pavement is affected by the mechanical properties of the asphalt pavement mixture. As asphalt is a material with strong temperature sensitivity, the asphalt mixture also becomes a temperature-sensitive material. Under temperature conditions, the asphalt mixture pavement will show very different mechanical properties. Higher temperatures will reduce the stiffness modulus and shear resistance of the asphalt mixture, which will cause high temperature stability problems under the load of vehicles. The temperature will show a certain distribution along the depth of the road surface. This distribution is related to changes in absolute temperature, sunlight, and temperature. The effect of sustained high temperature on the road surface is often greater than the absolute temperature. Therefore, when constructing asphalt pavement in different areas, it is necessary to select asphalt and design the structure and materials according to the local climate characteristics and local practical experience.
2. Load factors
The effect of load on the high-temperature stability of colored asphalt pavement mainly reflects the following factors:
(1) The size of the load, heavy load and overload are one of the important factors for rutting and other high-temperature diseases on asphalt pavement. Investigation data at home and abroad show that In the composition of the traffic volume, the road sections occupying a relatively large proportion, and the high-temperature diseases of the asphalt pavement are much more serious than other road sections.
(2) Tire pressure, the increase in tire pressure has a more damaging effect on the road surface than the heavy load and overload itself. However, many heavy and overloaded vehicles often increase tire pressure in order to improve their load carrying capacity. The unbearable burden of the road worsened, accelerating the occurrence of high temperature diseases on the asphalt pavement.
