What are the causes of oil flooding on asphalt pavements?

The asphalt in the asphalt mixture migrates upward to the surface layer when the weather is hot, but cannot penetrate into the lower layer when the weather is cold, so the asphalt accumulates on the surface of the pavement and forms a glossy asphalt film. The phenomenon is oil flooding. There are five reasons for this:
1. The composition of the mixture is improperly designed, the amount of asphalt in the mixture is too much or the porosity is too small, and the excess asphalt floods the road surface from the lower part;
2. If the mixing control of the mixture is not strict, the fine material content is too small, and the specific surface area of the mixture is small, the amount of asphalt is relatively large;
3. Improper amount of sticky layer oil, excessive spraying or uneven spraying;
4. The construction quality is poor, the mixture is segregated during paving, and the local fine materials are too concentrated;
5. The infiltration of rainwater makes the lower asphalt and stone peel off, and the asphalt film peels off under the action of water, causing oil flooding on the surface.
